Coping with the pressures of every day life can be a challenge for most people, but this is especially the case for the UK’s six million carers who have dedicated their lives to caring for a loved one.
This year, the 13th annual Carers Week seeks to highlight the true impact being a carer can have on peoples’ lives. From missing out on a promotion at work, to watching relationships suffer, the effect of caring can be incredibly tough. But of course it can also be a richly rewarding experience, and this is what keeps carers going from day to day.
Over 3 in 5 people in the UK - from all walks of life and backgrounds - will become carers at some time in their lives, looking after someone who is either ill, frail or disabled.

In addition to this website, we now have an email-based network to share information, and hopefully arrange social events. It is a Yahoo! Group, so it should be straightforward for people to use. You will need a valid email address to use the network, and your email address may be made available to other members of the network. It is easy use, and you can subscribe from the network if you want to.
If you would like to subscribe, fill in your email address and press “Click here to join HeadFirstWokingham”:
