August 18th saw a variety of staff and service users attend the launch party for Head First. The theme for the event was “Wear A Hat”, and people did just that – from baseball caps to sparkly cowboy hats! The party was well attended, despite the threat of rain, and everyone enjoyed the food on offer, including a barbecue, the usual party nibbles, and a rather nice cake.

As well as the food, there was also a raffle, a karaoke, and the cutting of the ribbon to officially launch Head First. Unfortunately, the dignitaries who were invited were unable to attend the party, but in the following weeks, we did get a brief mention in the local press, which led to one Head First member being interviewed by BBC Radio Berkshire. The interview was broadcast in September.
